Gutted...

This blog is and was about Christian topics from the start, but today I set aside that prerequisite for a special case of loss.

Saturday we lost a bright star in the effort of animal rescue, and specifically in Fox rescue. Mikayla Raines founder of Save-a-Fox died by suicide due to in large part from internet bullying and abuse.

I've always had great respect and admiration for Mikayla and her work as I know so many others have as well. I only wish she could have dismissed the negative and held on to the numerous positives.

She is survived by her husband Ethan and her daughter Freya. All my love and prayers to you both for comfort and peace in the midst of this unnecessary tragedy, and to all the rescues in your care who will undoubtably feel the loss and absence. The road ahead is long and painful.

Internet cruelty is a serious thing, and the old adage is wrong... Word's can and do hurt more than some will ever know, and I pray most will never have to experience or endure.

  1. Shalom Brother Jack-
I appreciate and respect your sensitive heart for others.
Most, if not all, of us have hurts and wounds that can’t be seen with the eyes.
May our Father comfort and draw her husband, Freya, family and friends to Himself.

Brother, you are doing a good job of running the particular race He had set before you, (Hebrews 12:1-4).
May our Father continue to use you to comfort and encourage others, (especially us, your readers).

I look forward to seeing you soon.
Until then, may you sense His Presence in such a way that helps you to keep running.

Shalom Brother, our Father blesses me through you.
