Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
The tragedy of his assassination is a reminder of the cost of our faith, even here in the USA. Not just the loss of friends and family, but even of life and limb.
People around the world face it every day in some places. The hostility of the world against the truth and those who share it, believe it, and practice it.
The days are truly evil, and we must be vigilant and fully armored.
No one advocates for death, but we are dead already in Christ, so that we may live with Christ. And Paul said it best. To live is Christ, and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).
My prayers for comfort and peace to his family and all the lives in who he touched for Christ.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. Stand firm then... (Ephesians 6:13-14a)
For, you will stand, because He is able to make you stand. (Romans 14:4)
Come soon Lord Jesus!

ReplyDeleteCharlie was certainly fearless when it came to sharing his faith... He spoke with clarity and all who listened to him understood where he stood on any matter, but especially with regard to his faith in Jesus. His audience seemed to be primarily young college aged students... but he was well known in many circles and among all ages... Like the apostle Paul, he set a great example for all to follow.
ReplyDeleteToday also marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11.
Thank you Foxman. My armor is sometimes sitting in the corner waiting for a battle, but in reality we are in a battle since birth. Thank you for the reminder that we must be battle ready day and night to guard our hearts and minds with the Truth of God's Word.
